Mondays with MEEDA

“Your body is woven
from the light of heaven.
Are you aware
that its purity and swiftness
is the envy of angels
and its courage
keeps even devils away.”
― Rumi

Dear Readers,

We hope you’ll be able to join us live on #mondayswithmeeda, 12th October 2020. The goal is to raise awareness about eating disorders, weight stigma and body image issues. We will be talking about body acceptance on our live session. If you have any questions or suggestions then please send them to us:

Middle East Eating Disorder Association (MEEDA) is an NGO raising awareness about eating disorders in the region, supporting patients and practitioners and organising prevention of EDs. All the work is done on a volunteering basis, and aims to break the mental health stigma so many people in the Middle East suffer from.  Every other Monday, MEEDA pairs up one of their ED experts with a guest, in order to get all answers about what truly are EDs and how to recognize them/get help/ support a loved one who is sick. These sessions take place at at 5pm Beirut, 6pm Dubai.  You can find some of their older #mondayswithmeeda interviews on their IGTV.

Background of mondayswithmeeda

Following the daily Instagram lives we organised for #eatingdisorderawarenessweek (check our IGTV if you missed them!) we felt like making them a more frequent occurrence.

We are therefore introducing #mondayswithmeeda📣📣📣every Monday at 5pm KSA, 6pm UAE:
– A conversation held live on @meedassociation between one of our certified ED experts and a guest.
– A chance to ask questions about diagnosis, treatment, recovery or any other topic around #eatingdisorders

To start this new series, we are re-organising a discussion between Certified ED dietitian @halaabutaha & singer, actress and motivational speaker @nadinechammas – since we had to reschedule it after encountering technical difficulties last week. It will be held in Arabic.

We hope to see many of you there, meet us right here, and feel free to share!

Please don’t forget to visit their website for incredible resources and follow them on Instagram and Facebook.
