NEDA theme this year is Let’s Get Real and our goal is to expand the conversation and highlight stories we don’t often hear.
Our culture has complicated relationships with food, exercise, and appearance. 30 million Americans will struggle with a full-blown eating disorder and millions more will battle food and body image issues that have untold negative impacts on their lives.
But because of stigma and stereotypes, many people don’t get the support they deserve. Join the conversation and help us raise awareness, bust myths, get people screened, and start journeys to healing.
Dear Readers,
National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (#NEDAwareness) is fast approaching! Let’s join hands with all the ED organizations across the world to tackle ED issues, bust myths, share the unique stories, and point people to support and resources. Since 2012, many sufferers have shared their unique stories with us. In respect of NEDAwareness Week, we’ll be highlighting these stories, publishing new stories and once again contacting mosques and community organizations across the Muslim world to raise awareness of Eating Disorders in Muslim Communities. We encourage you to become part of this great deed. Please contact us and get directly in touch with NEDA as well.
Please find below resources and how you can get involved.
