A Simple Outline For Lifelong Recovery: How exactly do you recover from Bulimia Nervosa? What are the actual steps involved?
Dear Readers,

Richard has just released the first episode of a new series on YouTube. A Simple Outline For Lifelong Recovery. I hope you’ll find it as useful as I did. It’s a fabulous way of connecting with people and for us to see the real brains behind Bulimia Help.org. Treatment for Eating Disorder is very important. Only very few and very lucky ones recover by themselves. With an Eating Disorder one has subconsciously perfected their ways to keep their disorder going regardless of the consequences. They’ve learned how to get around family and friends by compartmentalizing their life. They make sure each person only knows what they want them to know. By fragmenting the experience, it can be very difficult for a family to get together and approach the sufferer as a collective. Therefore, getting professional medical Help is must. I find the benefits of using outside help is how it teases out all the lies, manipulations, and subterfuge from the demon of Eating Disorder and brings the full picture of the disorder into the light for the sufferer to see. Family can never do that. If you’re suffering from an Eating Disorder, reach out for advice and help from a qualified professional.
According to Richard: “I did this because I know how hard it can be getting a handle on recovery. Sometimes, you need a fresh perspective and new ideas.
And sometimes, you just need a kick of extra motivation to break through when you feel uncertain or frustrated.
I recently posted a video to the Bulimia Help Members and they loved it, but they asked for more. So here we go.
I hope you like it. If enough people subscribe, I’ll keep making these for you each week.”

And how do you ensure once you have recovered you stay recovered and don’t relapse back into your old destructive habits.
A simple outline we use at Bulimia Help is the Recovery Pyramid.
This is a simple outline you can follow that will help give you a clear birds eye view of the recovery process.
Here are the 3 stages below of the Recovery Pyramid.
Stage 1: A Simple Outline For Lifelong Recovery: Re-balance your body.

I am shocked by how few people realize that bulimia is mostly a physical condition rather than a mental one. The simple fact is, if you don’t take the time to heal your physical body you have a very slim chance of ever recovering.
Purging and restricting your food keeps your body in a malnourished hungry state. This leads to massive urges to binge on large quantities of food. We call this Primal Hunger.
This is a very natural and normal side effect from not eating enough food. The good news is we can follow practical steps to turn off your primal hunger. We do this by following a structured eating plan.
This goes a LONG way to reducing your urges to binge on food.
Stage 2: A Simple Outline For Lifelong Recovery: Diffuse your Mind Binge Urge

If you have suffered from bulimia for a long time you may be relying on binging and purging on food to numb out any emotional pain or any uncomfortable feelings. We call these Mind Binge Urges.
It’s similar to how a smoker craves a cigarette when stressed or someone craves alcohol in social situations. It is a learned response.
The good news is that it can be unlearned.
We can do this by learning effective strategies to better manage our emotions without resorting to bingeing on food.
Once we have mastered these two stages we have gone a long way to completely removing the urge to binge on food.
Stage 3: A Simple Outline For Lifelong Recovery: Intuitive Eating

This one is the secret key to life long recovery from bulimia nervosa.
Once we stop binging and purging on food we cannot go back to our old eating habits as these are what caused most of the problems in the first place.
Instead we must learn a new effective method of eating food that doesn’t rely on calories counting, food rules or any form of restriction.
The key is to become an intuitive eater.
This is where you listen to your hunger, or your intuition to guide you as to what, how much and when you should eat.
Learning to become an intuitive eater can have a profound impact on your life and can dramatically transform your relationship with food. By doing this eventually food becomes just food.
That’s it. This is a simple outline that can lead to lifelong recovery.
Do consider checking out the website: Do bear in mind that there is a major health and financial benefit to bulimia recovery treatment. Bulimia is a very expensive illness to manage, it has a major financial effect on one’s self and their loved ones. Go for treatment and live the life you deserve to live, free from the confines of the Demon of Eating Disorder.
