Dear Visitors,

Please find below our Live IG Session with Dr Huma Aslam on Psychological impact of Gaza Genocide on people’s mental health.

In this interview with Dr. Huma Aslam, a Consultant Psychiatrist from Pakistan, we explore  maladaptive behaviours prevalent during times of profound distress and grief.

Our sister Nadia dedicates her time to aiding individuals with eating disorders, offering an Islamic  perspective on this mysterious and sensitive topic. The ongoing events in Palestine intensify the  impact on those with eating disorders, as heightened sensitivity exacerbates their challenges.

Dr. Huma said: “Studies indicate that 20 out of 100 individuals exposed to violent acts and wars, like  those in Palestine, may suffer significant mental health issues” and this mental depletion could get  worse if this violence was for an extended period of time . Feelings of helplessness and guilt are  common during such times, magnified by the distressing images and videos from Gaza. To mitigate  mental damage, it is advisable to limit exposure to social media content.
