The goal of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (#NEDAwareness) is to shine the spotlight on eating disorders by educating the public, spreading a message of hope, and putting lifesaving resources into the hands of those in need.

This NEDAwareness Week, we invite Every Body to Have a Seat at the Table. In a field where marginalized communities continue to be underrepresented, we welcome conversations on raising awareness, challenging systemic biases, and sharing stories from all backgrounds and experiences.

Let’s build a movement to raise awareness and support those affected by eating disorders!

Dear Readers,

We are in middle of #NEDAWareness Week. This year our primary focus was to cover Five topics through our Insta Stories. Due to limited resources we were unable to conduct interviews or do any podcasts.

Let’s join hands with all the ED organizations across the world to tackle ED issues, bust myths, share the unique stories, and point people to support and resources. Since 2012, many sufferers have shared their unique stories with us. In respect of NEDAwareness Week, we’ll be highlighting these stories, publishing new stories on our website and our Instagram. Please visit NEDA for great resources.

Our five topics for #NEDAWareness Week are:

Monday: Why are eating disorders on rise in the Muslim world?

Tuesday: Highlighting Influential Muslims who’ve spoken about their eating disorder

Wednesday: Body image. Do we as a society discriminate people? Does this lead to negative body image?

Thursday: Eating Disorder and Marriage. Should people with ED get married or should they wait till they’ve recovered?

Friday: Ramadan and Fasting
