Some Wise Words from Ihsan on Second Ten Days Blessings.
we are now nearly halfway through Holy Ramadan, the blessed and sacred month of fasting, regarding which Allah Almighty states that when observed with excellence, will lead to greater awareness and illuminated consciousness, known as taqwa, or God-consciousness.O you who believe! Fasting has been prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain God-consciousness.— Surah al-Baqarah (Holy Qur’an, 2:183)The Holy Prophet ﷺ also stated that the blessed month of Ramadan is divided into three parts, the first third being mercy, the second third, forgiveness, and the last third, freedom from the fire.We are now in the period during which the gates of heaven are open wide for forgiveness, and for purification from all that holds us down and binds us to material life in dunya, the end of which is fire.I pray the month is going well for you, and I wanted to share a few suggestions to help you complete the second half of Holy Ramadan in excellence and attain to the success and God-consciousness Allah Almighty is calling us towards.1. Eat healthy and nutritious foods, vital foods. Natural foods, closest to their original state, are what Allah Almighty created for us to eat and that best support our system for health, vitality, healing and strength.By eating nutritious foods, you support not just your physical health and wellness, but also your mental, emotional and spiritual health.2. Eat in moderation. Do your best to not overeat in the evening, and allow your stomach to remain light. Overeating is the cause of much illness in the body, and restraint, as was practiced by the Prophet ﷺ, is best.Be eating light, you free up energy for worship, better quality rest, consciousness and spiritual energy.3. Be physically active. Do your best to get some form of physical activity during the day. This is best for the body, and will support the proper management of your energy, which in turn translates into consciousness and spiritual energy.4. Focus on the inner dimension of fasting. The heart of fasting is the fasting of the heart. We do not want to be they “who get nothing from their fast but hunger and thirst.” Rather, we want to be they who attain to excellence and success in Holy Ramadan by fasting from the negative emotions and actions that sever our connection to Heavens and to the Divine Presence of Allah Ta’ala.Sincerely fasting internally from negativity and the lower self is the key to a successful Ramadan and to attaining God-consciousness.Use this sacred opportunity to transcend anger, fear, desire, lust, jealousy, hatred, resentment and the like. Such negative emotions bind us to the lower world and to our lower selves, and prevent us from ascending in consciousness towards the Eternal Divine Presence of God.There is much, much more that can be said, and we still have over half of Holy Ramadan to make the best and most out of this special opportunity and attain to true and eternal success.More important than how one begins is how one ends, and we ask Allah Almighty to give us a blessed and successful end to this holy and noble month, that we attain His divine pleasure and nearness through sincerity and humility, and that He Almighty continue to favor us with His grace throughout the rest of the year. Ameen! To Your Divine Success,— Ihsan
