“What actions are most excellent? To gladden the heart of human beings, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted, to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful, and to remove the sufferings of the injured.”
(Bukhari)
Dear Readers,
What is it about some people and their kind word that carries so much power? Anyone who has ever been afflicted with a mental illness, eating disorder, depression knows that a single, simple word of encouragement can change a day, a life, a world.
Also by choice, I am a writer, poet and a farmer.

Asim Khan is a UK president of Pakistan political party Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf (PTI). He’s a Man with heart and power to transform lives. He gives courage and strength to each and everyone who comes his way. He never forgets people’s names and sees each individual as a marvel of God’s creation.
For a man of such high caliber to pay a tribute to work of Istanbul on my blog is indeed very endearing. It’s uplifting for someone who’s simply an amateur blogger.
I first met Asim in 2011. I had just left hospital and was working towards setting myself up as a free lance journalist. I was very low in confidence and had to be accompanied everywhere by a member of family. I can’t forget my first assignment and how I really wanted to interview someone important from politics. I emailed Asim and he very kindly invited me to one of his events, he went out of his to introduce me to different members of his party and not once questioned my Journalist Credentials. That day miracle happened and I was able to interview one of the most genius brains of Pakistan.
From there I was able to build on my confidence and go and interview many other people and cover many events. In 2012 this blog, ‘War against Eating Disorder’ was born and I then embarked on a journey of spiritualism and self-healing.
I really would like to say, Mr Asim, your a man with heart and soul who gives different meaning to being in politics.
In today’s world, where politics is tarnished and marred with corruption, battle of power and egos, you teach us about intention and how any man rich or poor, educated or uneducated, male or female can make a difference in any setting at any place on the earth.
People are our assets as it is them who makes processes, create infrastructure, and most importantly the will and vision to stand against challenges of time. It is their aspirations and expectations which make the role of leaders challenging and dynamic and the ability to see it across many domains – to seek solutions, get them accepted and provide ownership and its implementation.

There’s no limit to what a man can achieve, all we need is self-belief and a will to serve God through serving His creation. Once we do that, we set ourselves free and we make a positive contribution in God’s world.
Thank you for this Poem, this will carry me through to Gaziantep and back, Inshallah.
Gaziantep
Wrapped up in prayers
Off to Gaziantep
To see angels
Of the grand past
Not cold, this earth
Neither its humanity
Only the indifference
Cold and barefootIn display,
The grand mockery
In display
The great pain
The message preserved
Of Guidance and Wisdom
In action only the hatred
Only few, that go far
Wrapped up in prayers
To Gaziantep
May God have its blessings
Upon your soul
In protection you remain
By the mighty angels
In Gaziantep

Our Tribute to Mr Asim Khan
This Poem and appreciation for his work is written by a beautiful soul from USA, Yormi. She’s a freelance journalist and a brilliant human soul, she has been my rock in past month.
FROM THE HEART AND THE SOUL
From the ends of the earth
To the depth of the Ocean
From the bottom of lowly soul’s heart
To the ‘brace of the sundry –all
Of the lofty works of hope,
The great acts in verisimilitude,
Of humility and polite attitude
Remembering not in hate, the lowly
With lack of egoism,
Greater than imagination’s imagination
Dine with the lowly soul, like ours
Stay in wait, even in the terrain; where blood
Kneels in blood, its master’s
Lying in wait to hear the harness jingle
Where all teams will be ploughing;
When men are alive
And parity is restored.
From all of us, Thank you Sir, You are highly extolled and like you do you will also attain lofty heights in all your endeavours. You bring inspiration and my words are so underrating, underestimating. Words fail me right now. Keep on the good work and our dreams shall move from virtual to reality, Inshallah. Thank you.
“The (true) servants of (God) the Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, reply with (words of) peace.”
