Without a veil your countenance cannot be seen,
Without a veil your eyes cannot be seen.
Unless one is experiencing complete enlightenment
The source of the sun cannot be seen.
Please find below our weekly pearls from classical poet, saint and mystic of Persia, Jami (1414-92). Jami was born at Jam, near Herat, the western province of Afghanistan in 1414 and died in Herat in 1492. From childhood he was welcomed everywhere as a marvel of brilliancy. He himself wrote that he never found a master who knew more than he. Jami was a disciple of Sadedin Kashgari, the chief of the Naqshbandis, whome he succeeded in the direction of the Herat area of AFGHANISTAN. His higher allegiance was to Khja Obaidullah Ahrar, General of the order. Jami was a genius and knew it, which made ecclesiastics and literary men of his time acutely uncomfortable, since the convention was that no man was great unless he appeared intensely humble.
We hope you’ll find these pearls useful in your journey to healing. Enrich your mind with these golden pearls of wisdom and ignore the whispers of demon of ED.
If love manifests itself within you, it has its origins in beauty. You are nothing but a mirror in which beauty is reflected. Because beauty and its reflection are both from that one source, it is both treasure and treasure-house.
Love reaches its omega when it transcends itself
Becoming one with the object itself
Producing the unity of being.
Aay khwaaja agar maal agar farzand ast
Peydaa-st ke moddat baqaayash chand ast
Khosh aanke delash be delbari darband ast
Kash baa del o jaan ahl-e del peyvand ast
O, man of importance, perhaps with money and offspring you may start,
But it is clear that with all these after a short time you will have to part.
Happy is he who connects his heart to the Beloved.
And with heart and soul is tied to the folk of heart.
Be the captive of Love in order that you may be truly free -free from coldness and the worship of self. Thousands have passed who were wise and learned but who were strangers to Love. No name is left to them, nothing to proclaim their fame and dignity or to relate their history in the march of time. Although you may attempt to do a hundred things in this world, only Love will give you release from the bondage of yourself.
Har surat-e delkash ke toraa ruyi namud
Khaahad falakash zud ze cheshm-e to robud
Rav del be kasi de ke dar atvaar-e vojud
Bud ast hamishe baa to o khaahad bud.
Each attractive form that shows its face to you,
Destiny will soon steal it from the eyes of you.
Go and give your heart to someone who in all turns of existence
Always has been with you and always will be with you.
Happy is he who is able to escape from the lower self and feel the gentle breeze of friendship. His heart is so full of the Beloved that there is no longer room for anyone else. The Beloved flows through his every vein and nerve. Every atom of his body is filled with the Friend.
The true lovers can no longer perceive either the scent or the color of their own selves. They have no interest in anything other than the Beloved. Their heart is attached neither to throne nor crown. Greed and lust have packed their bags and left their street. If they speak, it is to the Friend. If they seek, it is from the Friend. They no longer take themselves into account, and live only for love. They, leave the raw and turn to the ripe, abandoning completely the abode of the self.
Ay del talab-e kamaal dar madrase chand
Takmil osul-e hekmat o handase chand
Har fekr keh joz zekr-e khodaa waswase ast
Sharmi ze khodaa be-daar in waswase chand
O, heart! How long will you search for perfection in schools?
How long will you try to perfect philosophy, geometry and all its rules?
Every thought which is no remembrance of God is an evil inspiration,
Be modest before God! How long these evil thoughts? (Leave them to fools!)
When you see beauty and perfection in this world, it is nothing but a sign of Him. A beautiful creature is merely a single blossom from the vast garden of God. But remember that a picture fades, a flower dies, and the reflection in the mirror is eclipsed by the real Light. It is God who is real and remains so forever. So, why waste your time over something that is here today and gone tomorrow? Go directly to the Source without delay.
Hamsaaye o hamneshin o hamrah hame ust
Dar dalaqe gadaa o atlase shah hame ust
Dar anjomane farq o nehaan khaaneye jam’
Be-llaah hame ust summa be-llaah hame ust
Neighbour, companion, fellow traveller, all are He!
In mendicant’s habit and in king’s satin, all are He!
In the assemblies of separation and in the private places of union,
By God, all are He, once again: by God, all are He.
Whether your destiny is glory or disgrace,
Purify yourself of hatred and love of self.
Polish your mirror; and that sublime Beauty
From the regions of mystery
Will flame out in your heart
As it did for the saints and prophets.
Then, with your heart on fire with that Splendor,
The secret of the Beloved will no longer be hidden.
