This life, all of it, is nothing but a single chapter of a novel with numerous chapters, and death is not the end of the adventure, it is the beginning of it.
Dr Mustafa Mahmud
I am sad to share the news of Munawara Alim Khan. She passed away on Friday, January 29th, 2016 in London and today on 30th January, she’ll be laid to rest.
To Allah We Belong: Qur’an 2:156
She fought to the very end with strength and grace. she was our pillar of strength and one of the main supporters of this work. These are the people who work behind the scenes and never take credit for anything. Her care for sufferers and empathy for those battling Eating Disorders gave hope to many from Egypt to UK. Even in her last days, she did what she could to ease the pain in this world. She supported our efforts in Turkey and emptied her wallet for those in Syria. Mostly she prayed from depths of her heart for those battling the demon of Eating Disorder.
Despite all the ridicule and vicious attacks – over the months – Mrs Khan remained steadfast in her beliefs, caring and, above all, dedicated to her family and loved ones. Despite having no strength in her body, she cooked for me. That was one of the most memorable meals of my life. I was so honored.
Do not say that every day you spend on this earth is a day closer to dying. Every day you spend on this earth is a day closer to finally Living.
Last Year in honor of NEDAwareness Week, her Story of strength and courage was shared with our readers and it was greatly appreciated. I cannot put into words, how much strength and hope it gave to people. To Read her Story, Click Here
Gratitude, thank Allah for everything. All is from Allah.
Thank you for your love, compassion and support. Your words of wisdom will stay with us forever. I know so many girls who seeked strength from your fight against cancer. You taught us never to give up on recovery and to keep fighting. Recovery may seem far away but never out of reach. You had a vision where people suffering from Eating Disorders will be able to overcome their illness, defeat it and see the life for its beauty and uniqueness.
You are not aware of the consequences that would result (if you were granted what you desire) because what you seek might be to your detriment. (O soul) be conscious that your Master is more aware about your well-being than you are.~Ibn Al-Jawzee
Munawar Alim Khan is survived by her Daughter and Son. Please keep her and her Family in your prayers.
