There is a Soorah in the Qur’an called The Fig. The fact that Allah swears by this tree indicates the tremendous benefits and great value of its fruit:
“By the fig, and the olive, by Mount Sinai, and by this city of security [Makkah]” Qur’an 95: 1-3
Ibn al-Qayyim recommended the use of figs as a liver and spleen tonic, to cleanse the kidneys and bladder, and as a diuretic. He also suggested eating them with almonds and walnuts for extra benefits.
At the time of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), figs were not common in the Arabian Peninusla, and thus they were not mentioned in the Sunnah except in a hadith with uncertain origin noted by Qutubi as reported by Abu Darda, saying that when the Prophet (pbuh) was offered a plate of figs, he ate and asked his Companions to eat, and said: “If a Fruit ever descended from Paradise, I would say that this is it, as heaven’s fruits contain no pips. Beautiful Skin Mask Recipe
Take some fresh figs and process them in a mixer with 1 tablespoon of yoghurt to make a fine paste. Apply this all over the face and massage you skin gently with it for a few minutes. Leave it for 15 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. If you cannot find fresh figs then soak some dried figs overnight and blend them to form a smooth paste.
Eat Figs for Beautiful Hair
When a person has an Eating Disorder, hair loss is common. “Figs contain hair-friendly nutrients like magnesium, Vitamin C and E which promote hair growth. The essential nutrients present in this fruit stimulate blood circulation in the body to accelerate hair growth. Figs to Treat Constipation
Consume 2-3 soaked dried figs with a tablespoon of honey. Use this continuously for a month every morning to relive constipation.

I used this smoothie in my recovery from Anorexia Nervosa. I had it for breakfast and for my mid-day snack. It’s brilliant and gives you extra power to carry on with your day. Honey, Dates and Figs are the most blessed foods in the Qur’an. This smoothie is full of health building ingredients, it will replenish your electrolyte and potassium levels and will leave you feeling powerful and rejuvenated.
1 small frozen banana
2-3 fresh figs (dried can also be used: 3/4 cup dried figs, soaked in water for 2-3 hours (so they become plump)
1 cup/200 ml. almond milk, (any milk)
1/2 cup ice
28 grams almonds or walnuts
1 tsp. honey
1.) Wash and chop the fresh figs.
2.) Place all ingredients in blender.
3.) Blend until smooth.
